Where we're heading next:
Home Sweet Home

Story Land
Long ago my best friend in Boston brought her kids here for their funnest vacation ever. Friend said it was the most ridiculous and kid-perfect place ever and she was spot on! We haven't driven the American Road to Mecca yet, so there were no comparisons to be drawn. They loved Story Land and we only saw 1/3 of it at most.
We gave it 3 hours and they say you need a minimum of 6 hours. (This was plenty for us.)
The Ticket Booth was a colorful crooked house and we all had a little explosion of joy! That's my favorite Mother Goose poem:
There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile,
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse.
And they all lived together in a little crooked house!
Doodle cooperated for pictures at Glen Falls, which meant she got to choose what we saw first at Story Land. Any guesses? Cinderella's Castle, arriving in style via large tractor-drawn Pumpkin Stagecoach. Doodle asked the driver, "Are you taking us to the Ball?" An affirmative nod from Farmer Brown.
To see Cinderella, waiting outside the castle, was simply too much for Doodle to bear. She ran up the walk and hugged her and wanted to see everything: the glass slipper, the ball, the throne. I was about to go into insulin shock, so we skipped Prince Charming and moved on to the Carousel and Pirate Ship!
At lunch I heard Little Man lisp and I gasped, "Did you lose another tooth?" Again, he had no idea when or where he'd lost it, but we know it was there at breakfast! I guess he'll be drawing a picture of his second tooth just like the first to put under his pillow tonight!
