Where we're heading next:
Home Sweet Home
Quote of the Day
Peanut, "Wow, mom, now we can say we've been to all 50 states! What are we gonna do next?"

Bailey Island, Maine
A couple hours South of Bar Harbor lies Camden, prettiest town by the sea. I'd really been looking forward to showing this town to Grandma so we walked down to the boats, into a couple of shops and then had a fun dinner at Cappy's.
Darkness is coming quicker
these days which I find very annoying. Another hour and we found ourselves driving in the dark again -- this time on a very winding and narrow road toward Portland, ME.
It seemed like an eternity when Grandma and I suddenly saw the same devastating thing in the distance. Our winding, narrow, dark road simply ran out. In fact, it looked like it turned into a boat launch. Now I had to pee. How did I miss that we were supposed to catch a ferry to the island?
All this happened so quickly and neither of us spoke. I mean, we were out in the middle of nowhere! Slowing to a snail's pace, Grandma and I both gasped at the same time realizing the optical illusion. The boat dock came into view as a very narrow bridge and we went along our merry way the final 12 miles to Bailey Island.
Breathing again, Grandma asked me why exactly I chose this place, and I have to say that I have absolutely no recollection how I stumbled across it. Aside from fishing there didn’t seem to be much going on, but I hoped we could just have a day off and let the kids play.
